Thinking of Getting Married at St Francis?

We’re big fans of marriage so if you’re thinking of having your wedding at St Francis’ Church we really want to help that happen.  You can get married in many different places today but for many a church wedding still remains a particularly special occasion which can combine both traditional and modern themes.

If you’re thinking of getting married at St Francis’ Church the first thing we’d like to do is to come and talk with you or invite you to meet one of us in church to take a look around for yourselves.  So please contact the church via phone or email and one of the ministers will get back to you to arrange meeting up.

You may already be wondering whether you’re allowed to marry at St Francis.  If one or both of you lives in the parish you automatically qualify [click here to check whether you live in the parish].

But you can also marry at St Francis if you have a ‘qualifying connection’; i.e. a link through the past, [like being baptized here] or your parents were married here.  A full list is given below.  And if you don’t qualify now you can create a suitable link simply by coming to church regularly for a few months.  We can clarify any questions when we meet.

You may wonder if your own past histories affect whether you can marry here, especially if one of you has been divorced.  We will need to talk through these kinds of issue to understand then better but they don’t necessarily constitute a barrier to your wedding happening at St Francis.

So, our basic message to you is please get in touch and let’s talk about you getting married here.  We’d love to make that happen for you if it’s at all possible – we love being part of a good wedding!
